About

Brisbane Water Aqualung Club (BWAC) is a highly regarded sports club located in the Central Coast region of New South Wales. Established in 1959, BWAC is the second-oldest independent dive club in Australia and is a fully registered not-for-profit organisation.

With a primary focus on exploring the historical shipwrecks of the NSW Coast, BWAC offers its members the opportunity to dive in depths ranging from 15 to 60 metres. In addition to shipwreck diving, the club also conducts regular dives along the stunning coastline, showcasing the region's exceptional reef sites.

What sets BWAC apart is its ownership and operation of a dedicated dive boat. This allows members to access rarely dived sites along the coast, making diving activities more accessible and enjoyable. The club owns moorings at Ettalong, Terrigal, and Swansea, providing easy access to dive sites spanning from Newcastle to Sydney.

Among the popular dive sites frequented by BWAC members are the wrecks of Birchgrove Park, Tuncurry, Galava, Kiama, Nerong, Advance, and Bonnie Dundee, offering a diverse range of experiences. Moreover, the club explores numerous picturesque reef dives along the coast, providing members with unforgettable underwater adventures.

Participation in boat dives requires a contribution from the divers of the day, with costs starting from $50 for short runs to dive sites like the Birchgrove Park. Additional fuel surcharges apply for runs to places such as Long Reef. The club offers annual memberships priced at $100 for individuals and $150 for families. For those who are still unsure about committing, BWAC provides a daily membership option for non-members who wish to experience the club's offerings firsthand.

For any inquiries or to arrange a dive, interested individuals are encouraged to contact BWAC directly at info@bwac. Com. au. To stay updated on the club's activities and engage with its vibrant community, be sure to visit and follow BWAC's Facebook page at https://www.
