Bribie Island Tigers Football Club, also known as Bribie Tigers, was founded in 1977 with the aim of providing the local community with the opportunity to learn and play football. Initially associated with Football Brisbane, the club switched to Sunshine Coast Football in 1999. As of the 2022 season, the club will be moving to play in the new Metro North Zone of Football Queensland, in line with structural changes occurring within the organisation.
The club is run by dedicated volunteers who fulfil various roles, including coaching, facilities management, canteen and bar services, and the management committee. In addition to offering the chance to play football, Bribie Tigers provides an environment for young people to learn important life skills such as teamwork, communication, building friendships, fair play, and the value of exercise.
Having been in operation for over 40 years, the club has accumulated a wide array of trophies and awards, including multiple fair play awards. Bribie Tigers has a rich history of competitive football and has achieved numerous leadingship wins.
The club welcomes players of all ages and offers a wide range of programmes. From the Kick-Off programme for three-year-olds to junior teams ranging from U6 to U17, and from successful senior men's and women's teams to the O35 team, there is a place for everyone. The club even offers Walking Football for those aged over 55.
With a recent growth in membership, Bribie Tigers continues to thrive. The club provides player registration services, updates on fixtures and results, and a field map on their website. Fans can also stay up to date with the latest news and announcements on the club's social media platforms, such as their Facebook page with over 1,800 likes.
