In 1998 they changed their name to the current Boomanulla Raiders. In 2004 the Raiders scraped into the final series, finishing in 5th place. After defeating Binalong 40-32 in extra time in the preliminary semi-final they took on Crookwell in the minor semi-final. The Greendevils were no match for Boomanulla, going down 38-24, which sent the Raiders into a grand final qualifier against heavy weights Tuggeranong.
They continued there remarkable finals feat, knocking the Bushrangers out of contention with a 42-32 win, and lining up a meeting with the Scholars in the Grand Final. However the fairy tale finish was not to be, as the Scholars proved too strong, winning the title 28-8.
