Bindoon Basketball Association

The Bindoon Basketball Association, located in the Shire of Chittering, is a thriving sports club dedicated to promoting and facilitating the sport of basketball in the local community. The association organises and administers various basketball leagues and competitions for players of all ages and skill levels.

With a strong committee and a dedicated group of volunteers, the Bindoon Basketball Association ensures a smooth and enjoyable basketball experience for all participants. The association offers divisions for different age groups, including Mini Hoops for PP – Year 1, Aussie Hoops for Years 2-3, Sub Juniors for Years 4-6, Mid-Juniors for Years 7-9, Mixed Juniors for Years 10-12 (depending on team nominations), and Seniors for both ladies (if four teams nominate) and mixed (if four teams nominate) divisions. Teams for the lower divisions are selected by the committee, while senior teams may nominate their own players.

During the season, the association runs a canteen, and every team is required to provide two volunteers for half an hour on the designated nights. The canteen manager is Kate Taylor.

Fixtures for senior teams are available online, and all players must be registered before Friday, October 20th, 2020, to be eligible to play. Senior teams are also required to provide at least one umpire during the opposite timeslot to their games.

The Bindoon Basketball Association organises social events, such as presentations at the end of the season, for different age groups. This includes fun games and windup for Mini Hoops and Aussie Hoops, a round-robin and windup for Sub Juniors, and a grand final night for Seniors and Mid-Juniors, followed by trophy presentations.

The association also participates in the Basketball WA Country Championships, with the dates announced each year.
