Berserker Barbell Club is Mackay's leading Olympic weightlifting club. As an affiliated member of the Queensland Weightlifting Association, our club is dedicated to promoting the sport of weightlifting and supporting athletes at all levels of competition.
Our club welcomes individuals of all ages and fitness levels. From the age of 12 to 55, we have a diverse range of members who come together to train, support each other, and have a great time. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced lifter, our club is a place where you can learn, grow, and be inspired to reach your fitness goals.
What sets Berserker Barbell Club apart is our team of qualified and dedicated coaches. Led by head coach Dean Callaghan, our coaches are passionate about helping each athlete on their own journey of strength and fitness. With qualifications in weightlifting coaching, strength and conditioning, and exercise and sport science, our coaches have the knowledge and experience to guide you towards success.
At Berserker Barbell Club, we offer a variety of training options to suit different needs. If you're just starting out, we have classes specifically designed for beginners where you'll receive the support and guidance you need to learn the fundamentals of Olympic weightlifting. If you're a competitive athlete or a CrossFitter looking to improve your weightlifting skills, our coaches will provide you with cues and techniques to enhance your performance.
Our training programmes are designed to prepare athletes for competition in Olympic Weightlifting. With a focus on three days per week, our programmes are tailored to the individual needs and goals of each athlete. Whether you're a novice or an advanced lifter, our coaches will work with you to develop a training plan that maximises your potential.
You can find us at Shed 3, 24 Milton Street in Mackay. We offer classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6pm, and on Saturdays at 8:30am. Drop in for a casual session or join our community of weightlifters who are passionate about strength, fitness, and overall health.
