Welcome to Balmoral Cycling Club! Located at the Murarrie Recreation Reserve in Brisbane, Balmoral Cycling Club is a racing-focused club that provides opportunities for competitive racing and skill development for junior, elite, women, and Masters cyclists.
At Balmoral, there is something for every rider. We offer a range of club activities, including weekly criterium racing, junior development, club training sessions, club track training, club rides, two annual AusCycling Queensland events, and our own elite men's, women's, and Masters racing teams. All our club activities are conducted according to COVID-safe requirements.
On most Saturday mornings throughout the year, we hold criterium racing at Muzz, our 1. 4 km closed road circuit at the Murarrie Recreation Reserve. We race A, B, C, D, and Masters grades, giving riders of all levels and abilities the chance to compete.
One of our top priorities is developing our juniors into well-rounded and competitive riders. Every Saturday morning, we run a Junior Development (JD) programme that includes an hour-long skills session conducted by our qualified junior coaches, followed by junior simulated races. This programme is designed for juniors aged U9 to U17 years.
In addition to criterium racing and junior development, Balmoral Cycling Club also holds weekly track training sessions on Thursday evenings at the outdoor velodrome at Sleeman Sports Complex in Chandler. We also offer exclusive member-only training sessions on the Anna Meares Velodrome leading up to State Championships and the Annual Club Track Championships.
Balmoral Cycling Club provides a complete pathway for juniors through to elite men's, women's, and Masters racing teams. In 2022, we proudly support our men's and women's racing teams, Scody Racing p/b Balmoral Cycling Club, and the Balmoral Masters Team. These teams are built around supporting riders to develop team racing skills in QRTS and other selected state and national races.
In terms of events, Balmoral hosts Queensland's largest women's and junior competition, the Balmoral Junior and Women's Tour, as well as our top event, the Balmoral Metropolitan Championships.
