The club offers various programmes and activities to enhance children's athletic abilities, including coaching sessions, competitions, and training days. Saturday afternoons are dedicated to friendly competitions where athletes participate in five events on a rotational basis, such as hurdles, sprints, long distance, shot put, discus, javelin, long jump, high jump, and triple jump. The competition begins after announcements at 12:45 pm.
Parents are required to assist with set-up and run field events from 12:15 pm.
On Wednesdays, athletes can engage in instructional coaching sessions for all athletic disciplines. These training sessions aim to improve the athletes' skills and are supervised by parents who also help with set-up and pack-up. Training sessions start at 4 pm and commence the Wednesday after the first competition day.
Little Athletics at Ashmore is not only about competition but also about family fitness. The activities conducted by the club, be it warm-up exercises or the actual running, jumping, and throwing events, are designed to improve the overall fitness and well-being of the participants.
The new season at Ashmore Little Athletics commences on August 26, 2023. Sign-ups and uniform collections are scheduled on August 12th and 19th, 2023, from 12 pm to 2 pm.
