Arana Netball Club | Netball in Brisbane

Arana Netball Club Inc. is a family-oriented sports club located in Brisbane, Australia. With a proud history spanning over 40 years, the club was initially formed in 1977 by a group of like-minded women who shared a passion for netball. Today, Arana Netball Club Inc.

Continues to bring the community together each season to celebrate the successes of its players and members.

The club is run by a dedicated committee, with Jenna Hodgkiss serving as the President, Kym Streeter as the Vice President, Gem Streeter as the Secretary, and Janice Geary as the Treasurer and Registrar. Other committee members oversee coaching, umpiring, umpire development, Arana Sports/Raffles, publicity, property management, uniforms, fundraising, and Downey Park representation.

The winter netball season, hosted by Downey Park Netball Association, takes place from March to September. Registration opens in January each year, and trials and training sessions start in February. Arana Netball Club Inc. holds training sessions at their courts in Leslie Patrick Park on Tuesday or Wednesday evenings throughout the season, with games played on Saturdays at Downey Park in Windsor.

To arrange a trial, interested individuals can contact the club.

During the off-season, the club organises a free summer clinic for 7 to 12-year-olds. This six-week clinic serves as an introduction to the game of netball for new players and offers existing players an opportunity to enhance their skills. The clinic focuses on fundamental netball skills through practical activities and games. To register for the summer clinic, individuals can email the club expressing their interest.
