Albion Park Little Athletics Centre is a vibrant sports club located in Wollongong, Australia. Catering to children aged from Tots to Under 17, the club offers a fun and welcoming environment for young athletes to develop their athletic skills. The club operates on a weekly programme that includes a range of track and field events.
The club's season runs from September to March each year, providing ample opportunity for athletes to participate and compete. Registrations for the upcoming season open on August 1, 2023, and can be done online through the Little Athletics NSW website. Parents are encouraged to apply for an Active Kids Voucher, which can be used towards their child's registration fees.
To determine which age group their child will be in, parents can refer to the Little Athletics NSW Age Group Calculation Table, available for download. Registration fees for the 2023/24 season are $110 for Tots and $160 for U6 to U17 age groups. Family discounts apply for families with three or more children.
New athlete registrations and transferring athlete registrations will require proof of age, such as a birth certificate or passport, to be sighted. This can be done at designated Registration Pack collection days, with dates to be announced on the club's Facebook page.
Uniforms are compulsory for all athletes, with singlets or crop tops being the key items. Shorts are also available for purchase, but all-black bike pants or shorts can be worn as an alternative. The club has implemented a COVID-19 Safety Plan approved by Little Athletics NSW to ensure the safety and well-being of all athletes, parents, and staff.
Albion Park Little Athletics Centre places a strong emphasis on community involvement and teamwork. Parents are encouraged to contribute by assisting with setting up and packing away equipment, age management, place judging for track events, assisting with field events, helping in the canteen, and supervising their own children at all times. Competition nights take place on Fridays, starting at 5:30 pm, with a first call at 5:15 pm.
Parents are reminded that they are responsible for the supervision of their children and must sign on each week to record who will be supervising their child. Under no circumstances should a child be left at the ground without prearranged supervision. Any child found to be unsupervised will be unable to compete until their parent is in attendance.
Albion Park Little Athletics Centre strives to provide a positive and supportive environment for young athletes to develop their skills, fostering a love for sport and encouraging them to reach their full potential.
