Fencing is a modern sport that involves two competitors fighting with blunt, electrically scoring swords. Points are made by contacting the opponent's target. While sword-fighting has a long and violent history, modern fencing is safe and has been a part of every modern Olympic Games. There are three different styles of fencing: foil, epee, and sabre.
Each style has its own weapon and rules, but they all share the same footwork and underlying principles. Many competitive fencers choose to specialise in one weapon.
Adelaide Swords Club is conveniently located at the North Adelaide Primary School, at 62-80 Tynte St, North Adelaide SA 5006. The club is open on Saturdays from 9:30 AM to 12 PM and on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6 PM to 10 PM.
