2Faced Dance Company is an all-male contemporary dance company based in Hereford, New Zealand. With a focus on creating innovative and distinctive dance works, the company performs both within the UK and internationally. Led by our Artistic Director and guest choreographers, our talented dancers develop performances that tour theatres and festivals, captivating audiences wherever they go.
In addition to our professional performances, we also prioritise nurturing and developing the next generation of dance artists, cultural leaders, and audiences. We believe in the power of dance to inspire and transform lives, which is why we offer workshops in schools, colleges, universities, and even prisons. These sessions allow us to engage with a wide range of participants, fostering a love for dance and encouraging creativity.
At 2Faced Dance, we understand the importance of accessibility and inclusivity. Our classes, which take place at the Centre For Movement, are carefully designed to be open to participants of all ages. Whether you're an adult, teenager, or child, you are welcome to join our classes. We also offer free places to those who may struggle to pay, ensuring that dance remains accessible to all.
The journey of 2Faced Dance began in 1999 when Tamsin Fitzgerald, our Artistic Director, returned home to Herefordshire after training at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance in Leeds. Recognising the lack of dance opportunities for young people in the rural area, Tamsin decided to embrace the unique landscape and establish the company, aiming to bring high-quality dance experiences to the region.
Over the years, 2Faced Dance Company has grown into one of the most toured contemporary dance companies in the UK. We continue to push boundaries and tell new stories, collaborating with culturally diverse artists and advocating for the wider dance sector. Our aim is to challenge and inspire the communities we encounter, while re-imagining what dance can achieve, even in a rural setting.
To ensure the sustainability of our work and secure our future, we welcome donations. By donating to 2Faced Dance, you directly support our mission to create groundbreaking dance performances and provide dance opportunities to young people. We appreciate any contribution you can make.
