Birkenhead United AFC offers different playing pathways for Junior/Youth community teams. The community team pathway enables players to join teams based on specific preferences, like playing with friends or returning to a previous team. These teams, guided by volunteer parent coaches, require one weekly training session and game.
For driven players aged 9 and up, the development pathway offers enhanced training opportunities. Training twice a week, these players earn spots in teams based on dedication and effort. An additional season fee applies to participants in the Skill Centre or Youth Development Programme, receiving expert coaching under a payment contract.
Female players can engage in the Fun Football programmes for ages 5 to 8 within mixed teams. From the U9 grade onward, girls can join exclusive girls-only teams if registration numbers permit. During signup, requests can be made to play with friends or on previous teams. The choice between Girls Only Teams or Mixed Teams is available for female players, who can opt for the Community or Skill Centre pathway.
