1066 Adventure Golf, located in Bishop's Stortford, is a unique miniature golf experience inspired by local history. David, the organiser, has designed the course to evoke the early Norman motte and bailey castles constructed in 1066. The course is built with eco-friendly materials, blending seamlessly into its surroundings.
Upon arrival, players are greeted by a life-sized Norman longship, setting the historical scene. The course features a castle keep, a thatched turreted house, a working water wheel, and wooden figures, all surrounded by water and gardens.
The 18-hole course, made from artificial grass, offers a challenging yet enjoyable experience for players of all abilities. The layout includes contouring, raised levels, rough, and fairways, ensuring that everyone can find something enjoyable.
In the coming months, David plans to add more features like educational signboards and additional mediaeval wood carvings to enhance the experience.
1066 Adventure Golf invites everyone to enjoy a day out or celebrate a memorable birthday party. No reservations are needed; just turn up and play. Pricing is effective as of 19th April 2022, with the course open from Monday to Thursday, 7am to 9pm, Friday to Saturday, 7am to midnight, and Sunday, 7am to 8pm.
