About
The Woolamai Beach SLSC is a non-profit volunteer organisation providing beach patrolling and rescue services to Cape Woolamai and Smiths Beach on Phillip Island.
It also provides a responsive rescue service to the Phillip Island and surrounding area comprising approximately 98 kilometres of coastline; the largest single surf life-saving precinct in Australia.
In addition to the traditional beach patrols, the Woolamai Beach Surf Life Saving Club has recently launched a Marine Rescue Service.
During the peak Summer holiday period, the Woolamai Beach SLSC also hosts Victoria's largest professional Lifeguard Scheme. The Professional Lifeguards are recruited from the volunteer ranks and bolster the existing services to provide beach patrols at Woolamai Beach, Smiths Beach, and the Cowes Beach seven days a week.
