Western Lions Rugby League Inc.

Western lions was started by Andrew Munro,Steven Crowley and a number of Wea's Old boys in 2004, tired of seeing one dominant club in Townsville the lions were born, having 7 teams in the first year and wining under 17s grand final which was coached by NQ legend Vern Daisy. In its very short exsitence Western Lions JRL has grown into a major force in the TRJRL with 20 teams registered in the 2010 season, leadingships in the U14s,U15's & U16's. The Club also was awarded the TDJRL Club leadings for 2010. A number of old Weas players and coaches are involved with Western Lions Brett Barrie, Brett Madsen,Rodney Yardley, Justin Jones, Reg Barrie, John Riley, Paul Fletcher, Wayne Williams.

The club continues to grow therefore the history of Western Lions JRL will continue to grow................... ROAR WITH THE LIONS!!!!!!!
