It. We aim to provide a safe, inclusive and fun environment for players of all ages and abilities to develop their skills, build friendships and foster a love for the game of football.
Suffolk Park FC offers a range of programmes for players of different ages and skill levels. Our Miniroos Football programme is designed for children aged 5 to 11 years old and focuses on fun and skill development in a non-competitive setting. It is a great starting point for kids who are new to team sports and want to give football a try. The programme is divided into different age groups, with age-appropriate playing formats to ensure a positive and enjoyable experience for all participants.
Youth Football is available for players aged 12 to 18 years old and provides a more competitive environment for players looking to further develop their skills and compete against other clubs in the local area. Our dedicated coaches and volunteers work closely with the players to enhance their technical abilities, tactical understanding, and teamwork.
Training sessions for all age groups are held once a week at the Linda Vidler Fields in Suffolk Park, and games are played on Saturday mornings at our home fields as well as other clubs in the Byron Shire Council area, such as Bangalow, Byron, Lennox, Mullum, and Pottsville. This allows our players to experience different playing conditions and challenge themselves against a variety of opposition teams.
At Suffolk Park FC, we believe in the importance of community and parental involvement. Each junior team must have a coach and manager, and we rely on parents to volunteer for these roles. We organise a muster day where team organisation is sorted out, and payment of player fees must be made by this day for players to be allocated into a team. We also provide a roster for parents to contribute to tasks such as washing team shirts and bringing oranges for halftime snacks.
To make registration more affordable, we encourage all school-aged players to claim the NSW government active kids voucher, which provides a $100 credit towards the cost of sports registration. By entering the voucher details into the playfootball registration payment section, this value can be redeemed.
Suffolk Park FC is a volunteer-run club, and we welcome parents and community members to get involved in coaching and other club activities. Coaching miniroos teams can be a rewarding experience, allowing parents to bond with their children and their friends while being actively involved in their sporting journey.
Ultimately, Suffolk Park FC is all about fostering a sense of community, encouraging active lifestyles, and promoting the joy of playing football. We are proud of the achievements we have made since our establishment in 2012, including the development of community spirit and camaraderie among our members. We strive to continue growing and strengthening in the years to come, and we invite anyone interested in joining our club to register and be a part of our vibrant and inclusive football community.
