St. Mary's Catholic Primary School was established in 1994 in Bundaberg, Australia. However, its history can be traced back to 1952 when the original school was located on Barolin St next to St. Mary's church.
The school was initially run by the Sisters of Mercy, and the first students started their education on 27th January 1952. In 1959, the Holy Spirit School was established by the Presentation Sisters on Elliott Heads Rd, operating independently from St. Mary's Senior School.
In 1982, both schools merged under one school principal, but they remained in their separate locations. The Holy Spirit School became known as St. Mary's Junior School, and the Barolin St. school became known as St.
Mary's Senior School. Finally, in 1994, both schools were closed, and St. Mary's Catholic Primary School was established in its current location on Frank Gilbert Drive.
St. Mary's Catholic Primary School is guided by the gospel values of Jesus in all aspects of its operations. The school offers an extensive curriculum and nurtures students academically, culturally, and spiritually. The charisms of Nano Nagle and Catherine McAuley enrich the school community, while the Restorative Practises approach promotes respectful relationships within the school.
As an inclusive and welcoming community, St. Mary's Catholic Primary School invites parents and students to be a part of their community. They provide a virtual tour of the school to showcase its unique environment and spacious layout. The school also keeps parents and students updated on the latest news and events through their Facebook page.
For enquiries, the school office is located at 1 Frank Gilbert Drive, with office hours from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday. They can be contacted at (07) 4152 2167 or smbg@rok. Catholic. edu.
