St Georges Basin Country Club Little Athletics Centre

Welcome to St Georges Basin Country Club Little Athletics Centre, located in Shoalhaven City Council. This sports club offers a range of athletic activities and programmes for children aged under 6 to under 17.

The centre provides a welcoming and inclusive environment for both new and returning members. Registrations for the upcoming season can be completed online from 1st August 2023, and registration numbers can be collected at a to-be-announced location. The season officially begins on Sunday, 27th August at 2pm and transitions to Thursday evenings at 4:30pm once daylight saving begins.

Each week, athletes will meet at the front of the shed behind their respective age group's basket. Parents are encouraged to assist their children in completing their events, and the more help from parents, the better. Participation and improvement are highly valued at St Georges Basin Little Athletics, and awards are given at the end of the year based on overall improvement rather than individual performance. The centre emphasises the motto “RUN for FUN!

” to ensure that athletes enjoy their time and look forward to each week's competition.

One key event to mark on the calendar is the annual Dragon Derby Gala Day, scheduled for 5th November 2023. Participants from various clubs within the zone, including some from Sydney, will come together to compete. This event is not only competitive but also a fun-filled day supporting the local club.

Please note that there have been some changes to the 2021/2022 season. Under 6 and under 8 categories will now have a pack start for the 200m and 400m events, respectively. Additionally, athletes in the under 11 and under 12 age groups will no longer be allowed to wear spikes in packed events.
