In the early 1990s, the population of the Tuggeranong Valley had grown to a point where it was realised that it could support a third Minor Rugby League Club.
So, founding members Michael Rogers (who was also the first Club President) set out to form the South Tuggeranong Minor Rugby League Club. With a complement of nine teams, a small committee and a backup of supporting parents, the club first competed in the Canberra District Minor Rugby League in 1993. From here the Mighty Knights have gone onwards and upwards to fielding twenty plus teams from under 6 to under 16 in 2005.
