Southside Comets Football Club, located in Edmonton, Cairns, is a highly respected sports club that caters to both Junior and Senior teams. The club competes in the FNQ Football competition and has a range of teams that participate in different divisions.
For the Senior teams, Southside Comets offers the leading League Mens, Womens, Mens Reserves, Youth (U18), and First & Second Division Mens teams. These teams have consistently performed well in the competition, with the premier Mens team winning their 2nd leadingship title in a row in 2018. They also secured a victory over Townsville's topship winners, bringing home the Crad Evans Shield for the first time in Comets history.
Junior teams at Southside Comets cater to children from 3 years of age up to 16 years of age. The Under 5 to Under 11 teams participate in MiniRoos Football, while the Under 12 to Under 16 teams play in the Junior Competitive competition. The club also offers the 'MiniRoos Kick-Off' programme, formerly known as 'Squirts', specifically designed for 3-5 year olds.

The home grounds and clubhouse of Southside Comets are located at the purpose-built football facility at the Walker Road Sporting Precinct in Edmonton, next to the Edmonton PCYC.
