Siena Catholic College

Siena Catholic College is a prestigious sports club located in Sunshine Coast, Queensland. Established in 1997, it was founded to meet the growing demand for Catholic Education in the area. It is situated in Sippy Downs, which was a greenfield site at that time and is now part of the well-developed Chancellor Park Estate.

The college started with 98 Year 8 students in four streams, and since then, it has expanded its offerings. In 2003, a fifth stream was added to Year 8, and in 2015, Year 7 was introduced as part of the Flying Start programme for Queensland schools. With these developments, the college now caters to a maximum enrolment of 920 students.

Siena Catholic College is an integral part of the educational precinct in the region. It is located alongside Chancellor State College, a dual-campus school catering to students from Prep to Year 12. Additionally, the highly regarded University of the Sunshine Coast and Siena Catholic Primary School (P-6) are also part of this precinct. This unique educational setup provides students with excellent opportunities for collaboration and access to diverse learning experiences.

Administered by Brisbane Catholic Education, Siena Catholic College has established close links with the Suncoast/Stella Maris Parish. These connexions further enrich the spiritual and community aspect of the college experience for the students.

The college derives its name from St. Catherine of Siena (1347 – 1380). St. Catherine of Siena was a mystic, theologian, and laywoman who gained recognition for her social activism, theological insights, and influence in the history of the Church.

As a tribute to her legacy, the college aims to instil the values of compassion, service, and academic excellence in its students.
