Established in 1976, Raymond Terrace Athletics Centre is a dual registered club and is proud to have the best grass track in the region. Along with a top-notch track, the centre provides synthetic run-ups for long and triple jump, ensuring athletes have access to the best facilities for their training. Moreover, the club is fortunate to have a team of qualified and experienced coaches in various disciplines such as sprints, middle distance, walks, hurdles, shot put, discus, javelin, long jump, triple jump, and high jump.
One of the standout features of Raymond Terrace Athletics Centre is its commitment to athlete development. The club offers free mid-week coaching sessions to all registered athletes, allowing them to enhance their skills and improve their performances. The season runs from the first Saturday in September until mid to late March, providing ample opportunities for athletes to compete and showcase their abilities. Athletes need to have been born in 2013 or earlier to register with the club, and there is no age limit – in fact, the club boasts an athlete in his 70s!
At Raymond Terrace Athletics Centre, the primary aim is to bring together athletes and their families for outdoor physical activities that involve family involvement. The emphasis is on “Run For Fun” and the individual improvement of athletes' performances. The club places great importance on providing opportunities for athletes to compete at various levels, including Zone, Regional, State, National, and even International competitions.
On a typical Saturday, the club's activities start with early events at 8. 00am, followed by warm-up sessions for Juniors (ages 6-12) around 8. 15am, and Seniors (ages 13+) at 8. 45am.

Registrations for Raymond Terrace Athletics Centre open in August each year, and the club holds a registration morning at the last weekend of August from 10am till 1pm. Athletes can also register online throughout the season, ensuring flexibility and convenience for new participants.

In the 2023/24 season, Raymond Terrace Athletics Centre saw 37 athletes with 196 personal bests, 110 successful throws, covering a total of 778 metres, 160 jumps, spanning 497 metres, and 474 runs, totalling 125,830 metres.
