The New Norfolk Basketball Association (NNBAI) has been an integral part of the basketball community in Tasmania for over 30 years. As both a club and a recognised association, the NNBAI aims to provide opportunities for a diverse range of individuals to be involved in a sporting association where true values are upheld.
The NNBAI believes that regardless of one's circumstances or skill level, if there is a passion and desire to play, coach, or referee basketball, there will always be an opportunity. The association is dedicated to helping every player reach their full potential while promoting a fun and enjoyable environment for learning and development.
One of the main focuses of the NNBAI is the development of junior basketballers. In addition, 2009 marked the return of a senior women's team in the STBL (Southern Tasmanian Basketball League). The NNBAI takes pride in its supportive community and has achieved numerous successes over the years.
Looking toward the future, the NNBAI is committed to growing bigger, stronger, and better. Whether individuals are interested in becoming players, coaches, referees, or supporters, the NNBAI welcomes anyone who wishes to be involved. The NNBAI is actively involved in the Hobart Junior Basketball League's 2014 season. The association has teams in various age groups, including under 12 and under 14 boys coached by Josh Wilton, under 12 girls coached by Chloe Wilton, under 14 girls (2 teams) coached by Breana Turner and Tegan Rainbird, under 16 girls coached by Tegan Rainbird, and under 19 girls coached by Tegan Rainbird.
