The club offers an exciting and unique racing experience due to the exclusive use of the venue on Tuesday nights. With the speedway operating on weekends, riders have the entire return road of the dragstrip to themselves. The course length is 3. 2 km, starting and finishing near the CAFE.
Riders navigate through tunnels, across the burnout pad, through green gates, and onto the Link Road. The course provides opportunities for riders to stretch their legs and engage in strategic attacks.
In addition to the main course, an alternate 2. 3-2. 4 km course is available, incorporating the return road, roundabout, and a steep entrance into the new carpark. This alternate course offers a different challenge for riders looking to switch things up.
Marconi Cycling Club caters to riders of all abilities, from those competing in open championship races to beginners just starting out in cycling. On Tuesday evenings, races are divided into five grades (A, A2, B, C, D) to accommodate different skill levels. Racing starts promptly at 6:30 pm, with sign-on beginning at 5:30 pm. It is advised to arrive early, as cars from the Dragway may still be on site.
The club also organises non-competitive training rides, often on the M7 Cycleway away from vehicle traffic. These rides provide a supportive and inclusive environment for cyclists of all levels.
