Liverpool Olympic Football Club Ltd was originally established in 1982 with the aim of uniting the local community through soccer. Since then, the club has grown to become a prominent sports and social club in Sydney. The club's first playing fields were at Liverpool Boys High School before being relocated to Phillips Park, Lurnea. In 1990, Liverpool Olympic finally settled at Hoxton Park Reserve, where they have been based ever since.
The current directors at Liverpool Olympic are a dedicated and knowledgeable team with vast experience in sports management. Led by Spiros Missiakos as the chairman, the directors are focused on providing a place and purpose for future generations while raising health awareness in the wider community of South Western Sydney. Each director brings their expertise to the club, whether it be finance, property, social, soccer, administration, or members.
Liverpool Olympic is proud to have established partnerships with local sponsors and social groups that align with their community-driven vision. These partnerships enable the club to continue operating and fulfilling its mission of creating a safe and purposeful space for future generations while promoting health and well-being in the South Western Sydney community.
The club also takes pride in its history and the journey it has undertaken over the years. In 1997, Liverpool Olympic raised enough funds to purchase property at 635 Fifteenth Ave West Hoxton Park, which served as a significant milestone for the club. Through raffles and donations, the club diligently worked towards paying off the property. In 2002, major renovations were carried out to enhance the soccer club facilities, including the renovation of the canteen and clubhouse.
At Liverpool Olympic, the focus is not only on sports but also on supporting the local community's special needs entities and engaging in charitable initiatives. The club's passionate volunteers are dedicated to encouraging residents of all ages to participate in health and exercise programmes. They strive to provide a venue that caters to multiple sports and activities, appealing to a wide range of interests and abilities.
