The objectives of Gunnedah Arrow Slingers are to promote 3D archery, bowhunting, and bowfishing for the advancement and benefit of the club and its members. The club aims to develop and foster relationships with other archery clubs to improve and develop archery in all its forms. Affiliation and liaising with governing bodies are part of the club's approach to achieving these objectives.
Established in January 2016, Gunnedah Arrow Slingers has quickly built a reputation for hosting high-quality events. The club held its inaugural sanctioned shoot in July 2016 and received praise for its well-organised shoot programme and quality range settings. The club's success extended beyond administration, as the club team achieved great results throughout the year, including winning the nationals club team and the club team of the year at the 3DAAA nationals.
