Gladstone District Tennis Association Inc, located in Gladstone, has been a thriving sports club since 1950. Formerly known as the Port Curtis Tennis Association, this venue initially consisted of 16 Hardcourts and 2 Synthetic Grass tennis courts. However, in 2012, the club expanded with the addition of 5 squash courts, thanks to a state government grant.
The association offers a range of programmes for both adults and juniors, including tennis and squash fixtures. They also provide court hire services for both members and the public. Moreover, the club features a fully licenced bar and a well-equipped function room, which are available for hire by the public. Additionally, the club boasts a pro shop where tennis and squash equipment can be purchased.
LET’S Tennis, the club's coaching provider, offers the Tennis Australia Hot Shots Programme, designed to nurture the development of junior players. They also offer a comprehensive training programme for older students, which includes squads, private lessons, strength and conditioning training, and assistance with tournament participation and travel arrangements. LET'S Tennis emphasises instilling a respect for the game and opponents in all of their players. Private and group coaching sessions are available, and interested individuals can easily book their lessons.
Gladstone Tennis and Squash Association has secured support through the Gladstone Regional Council's Rise Up Fund, aimed at assisting not-for-profit sport, recreation, and community organisations that have faced adverse circumstances. The association has participated in numerous events, such as the World Masters Squash Championships and seeks to keep members and the community informed through newsletters and news updates.
