The history of skiing in Australia dates back to the 1860s when it was born in Kiandra. In the 1930s, a 38-bed Chalet was built in Charlotte Pass, which was later expanded and replaced by the current Kosciuszko Chalet Hotel in 1939. To this day, the Chalet remains the heart of Charlotte Pass Snow Resort.
Over the years, Charlotte Pass has expanded significantly with the introduction of several independently owned hotels and lodges. The resort has also installed T-Bars, Pomas, and the Kosciuszko Triple Chair. As part of the Charlotte Pass 10 Year Masterplan, the resort aims to expand the on-snow experience and transform Charlotte Pass into a year-round alpine destination.
