Peter Schaffer, the founder and principal instructor of YouSkate, has an impressive background in sports instruction. He initially started rollerblading to keep fit during the summer while working as a ski leader and instructor in the European Alps. Peter has been recognised for his outstanding contributions in skiing and has received the 'Leader of the Year Award' twice from the Ski Club of Great Britain.

In 2007, Peter decided to undergo instructor training to teach rollerblading and was trained and examined by Asha Kirkby of Skatefresh, one of the top inline skate schools in the world. He gained his ICP qualification and started working as an instructor for Skatefresh. Peter then continued his training and obtained the higher ICP level 2 qualification.

Peter thoroughly enjoys teaching people of all ages and abilities. He has taught kids as young as four and adults in their seventies. He has also conducted workshops for kids from disadvantaged backgrounds, where rollerblading was their preferred discipline.

One of the highlights of Peter's teaching career was working with Asha Kirkby, who acknowledges Peter as one of the most talented instructors she has ever worked with. With his wealth of experience from teaching skiing, Peter is an extremely effective coach.
