Centre Of Italian Studies (CIS) is a sports club in Melbourne that has been a world leader in teaching Italian for over 43 years. With a flexible and extensive timetable, CIS offers over 100 adult Italian classes, children's classes, and VCE preparation courses. Whether you're a beginner or advanced learner, CIS has the right course for you.

The club is proud to have a team of native Italian-speaking teachers who are passionate about sharing their love for the Italian language and Italy. CIS offers a variety of events and activities to enrich the study of Italian language and culture. They host a Junior Italian Poetry Competition twice a year, in June and September, for Year 7 and Year 8 students. This competition allows students to showcase their knowledge of the language and their memorisation skills. It is an excellent opportunity to immerse themselves in Italian poetry and gain valuable experience in recitation.

In addition to the regular courses, CIS also provides summer intensive courses for those who want to learn Italian fast. These fast-track courses are perfect for reinforcing and consolidating knowledge or for beginners who want to cover a level in just one week.

For those who enjoy reading, CIS offers a Book Club where participants can study Italian by reading books and practising conversation with a touch of grammar. This unique approach allows learners to engage with the language in a meaningful way and enhance their comprehension and speaking skills.
