Welcome to Aikido Victoria Mt Eliza Dojo, a renowned sports club located in the beautiful city of Melbourne. As the representative of Aiki Kai Aikido in Melbourne and the state of Victoria, Aikido Victoria is proud to uphold the teachings and principles of the Aikido founder, Ueshiba Morihei, also known as O-Sensei.
Our dojo has a rich history, with its originator Sugano Seiichi (8th Dan) being a direct student of O-Sensei. Sugano Sensei was the head of Aiki-Kai in Australia and served as the Australian representative to the affiliated parent organisation, World Aikido Headquarters (Hombu) in Japan. Since his passing in 2010, his responsibilities have been carried forward by the Sugano Foundation.
At Aikido Victoria Mt Eliza Dojo, we adhere to the Aikido Moral Code, which emphasises the importance of commitment, obligation, and the responsible use of Aikido. We believe that Aikido is not merely a martial art but a way of life. Our members are encouraged to study Aikido with carefulness, honesty, and humility, respecting their seniors and taking care of their juniors.
